Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Archery Association (Perpani) has developed a plan to ensure the continued use of the Kampung Harapan field hosting the PON XX National Games archery match after the end of the Games next week.
“We have devised a plan for continued use of the land after PON XX, and we expect the regional branch of the association to follow through on this plan,” Perpani Secretary General Nyak Amir told Jayapura, Tuesday.
The planned use of the archery field as a training and game venue is part of the plan, Amir noted.
Perpani instructed its regional branch to follow the plan by coordinating with central and regional authorities for the creation of a sports education and training center for students.
“The sports education and training center could be established under the jurisdiction of the Papua Province Youth and Sports Bureau or under the direct funding and control of the Ministry of Youth and Sports,” Amir said. .

The archery association has offered its Papua branch and the Papua authority to work with the sports faculty of Cenderawasih University in Jayapura to establish a sports education and training center for children. university students.
The establishment of a sports education and training center aligns with the authority’s mission to train potential archery athletes in the province, he noted.
“We should use this momentum to promote archery among university students and establish the sports education and training center,” Amir said.
Perpani also urged his regional branch to propose the drafting of a regulation allowing the association to operate the Kampung Harapan field under the supervision of the government of Papua.
âIf these steps are not taken, we fear that the field will be neglected or abandoned. We are also concerned about the high maintenance costs, particularly related to its sanitary, electrical and other aspects, âAmir underlined.
