KUWAIT: The Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah shooting tournament ended on Saturday at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic shooting complex. The tournament included air pistol and 10m rifle competitions as well as Olympic archery.

The men’s 10m pistol competition saw Hamad Abdullah Al-Namshan take first place, followed by Ali Saad Al-Mutairi while Hassan Al-Failakamy took third place. Meanwhile, Ali Farhan Al-Mutairi took first place in the 10m rifle, while Abdallah Awadh Al-Harby came in second and Majid Hayef Al-Dhafiri third.

In the women’s 10m pistol competition, Sundus Bader Al-Hamad won first place, while Israel Bahman finished second and Mariam Al-Kandary third. Mariam Mohammad Irzouqi took first place in the 10m rifle competition, followed by Fatima Awadh and Reem Al-Bughaili who finished second and third respectively.

The men’s Olympic archery competition saw Faisal Baraka Al-Rashidi take first place, followed by Abdullah Taha and Abdullah Al-Harby who finished second and third respectively. The men’s compound archery competition saw Abdullah Yaqoub Malallah take first place, Bader Al-Shilahi second and Ahmad Al-Shatti third.

Sheikh Mubarak Al-Abdullah praised the efforts of the Kuwait Shooting Sport Club Board of Directors to develop the sport, which resulted in achievements in several important international events.

Meanwhile, the President of Kuwait and the Arab Shooting Federations, Duaij Al-Otaibi, said the tournament saw a large number of shooters take part, noting that the shooters displayed an “excellent technical level” as indicated by their shooters. scores. He appreciated the support of Sheikh Mubarak Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah to organize this tournament every year.

In addition, Otaibi reiterated that the championship is a good preparation for Kuwaiti shooters who are preparing to participate in the third Gulf Games that Kuwait is hosting in January 2022, and the HH the Amir International Grand Prix to be held in Kuwait in March. 2022.
